In order to prevent the use of the Bank as a tool for the legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and financing of terrorism and to protect the reputation of the Bank and its Clients, “Optima Bank” policy acts to counter terrorism financing and legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds.

The current policy of the Bank on preventing legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and financing of terrorism meets the requirements of legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the international standards and standards of UniCredit Group. Based on this Policy, the Bank has a system of internal control of legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and financing of terrorism, the main directions of which are:
  • Development and systematization of measures aimed at countering the legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and terrorist financing;
  • The principle of “Know Your Client” - the identification and study of the Bank’s Clients on the basis of the documents and personal data;
  • Identification and control of the operations/transactions connected with legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and terrorist financing;
  • Systematic training and professional development of employees of the Bank, as well as ensuring the participation of all employees of the Bank in the activities aimed at countering legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and financing of terrorism;
  • Improvement of the software to detect suspicious Clients and operations/transactions subject to obligatory control;
  • Documentation of the information and storage of information and documents obtained as a result of the application of measures to counteract the legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and financing of terrorism;
  • Promoting public policy in counteracting the legalization (laundering) of illegally acquired proceeds and terrorist financing.
Since 2006 Compliance Control Division operates in the Bank to organize the system of internal control and achieve the goals established in the Policies, the Bank.

For conversion transactions on demand accounts of individuals, including through the Optima24 application, the rates for buying and selling cash foreign currency established by this Order are applied.

The established rates for buying and selling cash and non-cash foreign currencies are valid for the amount of 25 000 US dollars or the equivalent of 25 000 US dollars in other foreign currencies. For transactions for amounts over 25 000 US dollars, the rate is set by the Treasury Department of Optima Bank OJSC by agreement.
